We are delighted to announce that we will be running a foraging weekend in Cahersiveen, on June 5th & 6th 2020. Join us for a weekend of exploring, foraging, great company, artisan gin, fantastic food and comfortable stay for just €200 per person sharing.
Start your weekend with nibbles and a few sociables with us at Quinlan and Cooke in our cosy reception before exploring Cahersiveen for the evening. Make sure you retire to luxurious super king bed early on Friday night as Saturday will be action packed.
Start the day with the Quinlan and Cooke Breakfast in your room experience, allowing you to enjoy your breakfast in the privacy of your own room at your own pace. Our Breakfast includes freshly baked croissants and muffins which are hung on your door whilst you sleep and from your mini-fridge enjoy a selection of organic fruit compotes with natural yogurt, homemade granola, fresh fruit salad, mineral water and organic juices.
We will head out for a shore and land forage at 9:30 am with Paul Quinn of Nádúr Collective in Greystones. You will be given full instruction on items to forage, learn about the best food to forage in Ireland and what could be growing in your back yard that you didn’t know was edible. The foraging will last about 2.5 – 3 hours before we head to the new Skellig Six18 Distillery for a tour and a tasting of their delicious artisan gin.
After the distillery tour we will return to QC’s for a light lunch and an afternoon of leisure before a dinner in QC’s hosted by Paul Quinn using some of the foraged ingredients from the morning forage trip in his menu for the evening. No trip to the Kingdom would be complete without a trip to the pub and a traditional music session!
